Funny Saying...

The other night at Community group my friend Liza said the funniest thing. I can't even remember what we were talking about but she said,

"Sin in Heaven is like poop in your brownie."

I laughed and laughed and it still makes me laugh.

ME Boxes

The "Me Boxes" went well today. I love doing those because it really helps the students to see that they have something in common with someone else in their class, it's so cool.
One funny thing was that I had at least 4 students put Visine or contacts in their box, to let everyone know they wear contacts or sometimes glasses. It just seemed like such an odd thing to want everyone to be aware of, that they found it important enough to include in their box.
One student juggled.
One student took pictures of the stuff he liked and just brought his camera, that was creative.
One girl brought lotion because she likes to rub her mom's feet, I hope my kid is like that.
That's all I can remember for now, pretty funny, good times.

First Day of School

It's funny how some high schoolers will catch sarcasm and others don't know what to do. I make jokes and nobody laughs, I act crazy and they look at me like this lady is crazy. At this point they are mostly quiet and just stare, I give it 3 weeks or less, then they will talk too much and will love my craziness.
All in all today was a great first day. The teachers did a mob dance at the morning assembly; which I helped create, once we have a video link I will definitely post it, it is pretty funny.
Next was on to my PE class of 6 girls (ugh to size) but when I got to the gym 3 more had joined the class, yay for PE!! Now we can actually play games.

Tomorrow we are doing an activity called "Me Boxes" where I will learn all about them, I find that it really connects my students when they find they have something in common with someone that they didn't even know before. It can be pretty entertaining as well.

Have a great night.

I'm Inspired

Laughing in Rome, July 2010
I was reading another teacher's blog and it inspired me to start my own. She had many wonderful stories about her Pre-K class. As a high school teacher I don't know that I will be talking about kids picking their nose, and who the criers are, but we'll see. I do enjoy my classes and we definitely have lots of laughs and stories to share.

Amongst talking about my work I will include stories about my life, travels, church, things God is showing me, and pretty much whatever I feel like, it's my blog.

If you choose to read, I hope you laugh and learn.

Summer 2010

Summer was great!!! I need more.
Ryan (my husband) and I traveled through Italy and France, we had never been to Europe before, other than a trip I had made to Romania in college to do mission work in orphanages. This trip was quite different. One of Ryan's friends was getting married so we decided to make a huge trip out of it.
We started in Rome and did just about every touristy thing possible. Next, we went to the wedding location in Tuscany and it was AMAZING!!! After the wedding we went to Florence, then Venice, and I finished Europe in Paris.  Ryan continued south to Lourdes and Bordeaux to ride in stages of the Tour de France. I flew to NY to visit a friend and then Ryan and I met back up in Vegas to celebrate with his cousin and future cousinette for their co-ed bachelor/bachelorette party.

It was an amazing experience that I will now attempt to share through photos. Enjoy!
